Privacy Policy

Effective October 1, 2026

Driver Leaderboard ("we," "us," or "our") gives drivers a safety score and an anonymous rank based on their motor vehicle record. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to www.driverleaderboard.com and any related services we offer (the "Service").

1. Information we collect

Account information. Your email address, and your name if you provide it, when you create an account or sign in.

Driving-record request information. To request your motor vehicle record (MVR), we collect your driver's license number, license state, and date of birth.

Consent records. When you authorize us to obtain your driving record, we keep a record of the disclosures you were shown, your electronic signature, and the date, time, and technical details (such as IP address and browser) of your authorization.

Driving-record information. With your authorization, we obtain your driving record, which may include license status, violations, accidents, suspensions, and related dates.

Score and rank. The safety score, rank, and public handle we generate from your record.

Usage and device information. Pages viewed, buttons clicked, referring links, approximate location derived from IP address, browser and device type, and similar data collected through cookies and similar technologies.

Communications. Messages you send us, such as support emails.

2. How we use information

  • Create and secure your account, including sending sign-in links.
  • Request your driving record with your authorization, and calculate your score and rank.
  • Show your score privately to you and your handle, score, and rank on the public leaderboard.
  • Respond to support requests and send service messages about your account or record.
  • Understand how the Service is used, fix problems, and improve features.
  • Measure the performance of our advertising.
  • Prevent fraud and abuse, enforce our Terms, and comply with legal obligations.

We use driving-record information only for the purpose you authorized: generating your score and rank. We do not use it to make insurance, employment, credit, or housing decisions about you.

3. What is public

The public leaderboard shows only your assigned handle (for example, "Driver #" followed by a code), your score, and your rank. We do not publish your name, email, date of birth, license number, or the details of your driving record.

4. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as follows:

  • Record providers. With state motor vehicle agencies and authorized consumer reporting agencies as needed to obtain your driving record, with your authorization.
  • Service providers. With companies that host our website and data, deliver email, provide analytics, and help us measure advertising, under contracts that limit their use of your information to providing services to us.
  • Legal and safety. When required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users, the public, or us.
  • Business transfers. As part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this policy.
  • With your direction. When you ask us to share it.

5. Cookies, analytics, and advertising

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, understand site usage, and measure whether our ads lead to sign-ups. Advertising platforms we work with may set their own cookies or use pixels to measure ad performance and to show our ads to people likely to be interested.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some features (such as staying signed in) may stop working. You can also adjust ad preferences in the settings of the social and advertising platforms you use, and where available, use your browser's Global Privacy Control signal, which we honor as a request to opt out of sharing for targeted advertising.

6. How long we keep information

We keep account and score information while your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information within a reasonable time, except where we must keep certain records (such as consent records) to meet legal, regulatory, or dispute-resolution obligations.

7. Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit and restricted access to driving-record data. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you and get a copy of it.
  • Correct inaccurate information.
  • Delete your account and personal information.
  • Opt out of sharing for targeted advertising.
  • Withdraw your authorization for future driving-record requests.

To make a request, email support@driverleaderboard.com from the address on your account. We may need to verify your identity before acting. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

If you believe information in your driving record is inaccurate, you may dispute it with the agency that reported it. Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, you also have the right to know what is in a consumer report about you and to dispute incomplete or inaccurate information with the consumer reporting agency that provided it.

9. Children

The Service is intended for licensed drivers 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version here with a new effective date, and if the changes are material we will notify you by email or through the Service.
