Terms of Service

With your authorization, we obtain your motor vehicle record (MVR), calculate a driving safety score, and show you your score and an anonymous rank on a public leaderboard.

You must be at least 18 years old, hold or have held a driver's license issued in the United States, and be able to form a binding contract. You may request a driving record only for yourself.

You are responsible for keeping access to your email account secure, because we use it to sign you in. You must give us accurate information and keep it up to date. Tell us right away at support@driverleaderboard.com if you think someone else has accessed your account.

Before we request your driving record, we will show you the required disclosures and ask for your separate written authorization. You confirm that the license information you submit is your own. Submitting someone else's information, or misrepresenting your identity, is prohibited and may violate federal and state law.

Driving records come from state agencies and authorized providers. We do not control their contents, and processing times vary by state.

Your score and rank are estimates based on the record we receive and our own scoring method. They are not an insurance rating, quote, or underwriting decision, and they are not a consumer report for use in insurance, employment, credit, or housing decisions. Insurers use their own criteria. Always consult a licensed insurance professional for coverage decisions.

We may change our scoring method at any time, which may change your score or rank.

When your score is published, the leaderboard shows your assigned handle, score, and rank. It does not show your name, email, date of birth, license number, or record details. You may ask us to remove your entry by deleting your account.

Some features may be free and others may carry a fee. We will show you the price before you pay. Unless stated otherwise at checkout, fees cover the cost of requesting and processing your record and are non-refundable once the record request has been submitted, except where required by law. If we cannot obtain your record, we will refund any fee you paid for that request.

You agree not to:

• Use the Service to obtain information about anyone other than yourself.
• Attempt to identify other drivers from leaderboard data.
• Scrape, copy, or resell content or data from the Service.
• Interfere with, probe, or attempt to bypass the security of the Service.
• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.

The Service, including its design, text, graphics, and scoring method, belongs to us and is protected by law. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable right to use the Service for its intended purpose.

You may stop using the Service and request deletion of your account at any time by emailing support. We may suspend or end your access if you violate these Terms or if we stop offering the Service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT ANY SCORE WILL AFFECT YOUR INSURANCE PRICE.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR $50. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

You agree to defend and indemnify us against claims arising from your misuse of the Service or your violation of these Terms, including submitting information that is not your own.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and by applicable federal law. Before filing a claim, you agree to contact us at support@driverleaderboard.com and try to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days. Any dispute that is not resolved will be brought in the state or federal courts located in New York, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction, except that either party may bring an individual claim in small-claims court.

We may update these Terms. We will post the new version here with a new effective date, and if the changes are material we will notify you by email or through the Service. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept them.
